MIU experiences record fall enrollment
A record 796 new students representing 85 countries and territories enrolled at MIU this fall — a 24% increase over last August — lifting MIU’s total enrollment to 2,771 students, up 2% from last August.
The biggest growth is in online programs, with substantial gains at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. New online undergraduate enrollment increased 41%, with total online undergraduate enrollment increasing 22%. New online master’s enrollment increased 34%, with total online master’s up by 10%
Several academic departments saw significant enrollment growth among all their programs:
- Regenerative Organic Agriculture — which has a BA program on campus and online and online and an online master’s program — had a whopping 233% increase in new student enrollment, with total enrollment rising 45%.
- Cinematic Arts and New Media — with BA and BFA programs on campus and online and an online MFA in screenwriting — had a 44% increase in new student enrollment, while total enrollment rose 32%.
- Consciousness and Human Potential — with two on-campus BA programs, an on-campus and online master’s program, a new master’s program in Enlightenment and Leadership, and a PhD program — saw a 51% increase in new student enrollment and a 16% increase in overall enrollment.
- Enrollment in the MBA Professionals program increased by 43% due to strong demand for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP/SAP) specialization.
Six new academic programs added this fall
Six new programs have been added to the university’s repertoire, bringing in 61 new students among them. Two are online versions of programs that had been available on campus, the BA in Regenerative Organic Agriculture and the BA/BS individualized major.
And four are brand new programs:
- MS in Integrative Medicine & Ayurveda Fellowship online (also here)
- MA Enlightenment & Leadership
- MS Physics
- EdD Transformational Leadership & Coaching online
